Covid Update

The Basildon Centre is open from 9am-5pm for pre-booked appointments for some services only. The Rehousing team are not present in the Basildon Centre so please continue to contact us by email on if you are unable to find the answer you are looking for on the Basildon Choice website, or alternatively, you can contact the customer service team on 01268 533333.​

We remain committed to providing the best and most efficient service to you - In order for us to do this we will contact you by email wherever possible so please log into your Homeseekers account and click 'update contact details' on the right of the page to check, add or amend your email address

If you do not have an email address, please check your Abritas account user messages regularly for notifications from us

Computer Access

For customers who do not have online access, 2 computers are available for public use in the Basildon Centre reception by prebooked appoinment only Reservations can be made by phone on 01268 533333 or email on

Sending and receiving documents

Wherever possible send documents via email, stating your name, address and Homeseeker Reference to

We can accept screenshots and pages downloaded directly from online accounts that you have, such as online banking/utilities/household billing accounts etc.

If you have a mobile device the best way to scan and send documents is to download a scanning app, - gives details of free tried and tested scanning apps and useful tips to help you use them.  When using scanning apps to scan multiple page documents please use the PDF option to save and send all pages as a single document. Full guidance can be found in the apps

If you can’t use a scanning app you can also take a screenshot from you mobile device or use a home scanner, please check that the image is clear before you send it to us

If you are not able to send your documents by email you can post them to us at the address below, but please be aware that the postal service may be slower than usual.  Please do not send original documents in the post as we cannot take any responsibility for documents that are undelievered by the postal service

If you cannot use one of the preferred methods above, you may bring copies of your documents to the Basildon Centre in person, but we would not encourage you to do this. Please do not bring original documents as you will not be able to enter the building and there are no staff available to copy or scan them directly for you. Please do not use this option if you can email or post your documents to us

Property Offers

Properties are still being advertised on the Basildon Choice website however we have limited stock becoming void at present so there will be fewer properties available to bid on.   If you are offered a property please follow the instructions on the offer letter.  You can still return your property keys in person to the Basildon Centre, please bring them in an envelope that is clearly labelled with your name, the property address and a contact telephone number   

The welfare and safety of our staff and residents of the Basildon Borough remain our priority and we will update this page regularly
